Our ImageBox widget can be used to generate cubes for 3D simulation in any region of an oilfield.

The images of this project are derived from the Johansen formation available from “The Johansen Data Set” website.
This component is part of a family of widgets for spatiotemporal exploration of the properties and variables of an oilfield, which we have developed for PetroSynapsis software. These PetroSynapsis widgets have spatiotemporal sampling capabilities, which means that if a property or a variable of the reservoir varies over time then this property is displayed dynamically. This feature makes these widgets an excellent tool for assessing global phenomena occurring at the oil field during the simulations.
This widget is associated with the iBox format which we have designed to store simulation cubes in PetroSynapsis. The figure shows a time instant of a time sequence of a variable which has been generated artificially as a Gaussian that expands in 3D space between two horizons.
At the right of the figure we can see the context menu which appears when you click on the widget using the right mouse button. This menu is similar for all the data mining widgets included in PetroSynapsis. The menu contains two regions. The first region is the region of the properties, which range from SWAT to ACTNUM. The second region contains commands that are specific for each type of widget, in this case includes:
“Convert To Fixed/Mobile”
“Set Square Box”
“Save as IBox”
“Save current property as input1.txt / FolioData format”
“Save current property as input2.txt / FolioData format”
