NeuroPanacea Version 2
NeuroPanacea is a surgical navigation system for neurosurgery which uses electromagnetic positioning.
Category: Surgical Navigation
Technologies: 3D Registration, Fuzzy Classification, Electromagnetic positioning, DICOM files, Three-dimensional reconstruction, State machines, C++, C#, VTK, ITK, DCMTK.
NeuroPanacea is the first surgical navigation system designed in Latin America. On the website of the company Ascension Technology you can find a reference to NeuroPanacea since NeuroPanacea uses the technology from this company. Please click on the bottom of the page (http://www.ascension-tech.com/) on the text “Brain Surgery Navigation”.
The upper four figures show some of the interfaces of NeuroPanacea – Version 2.
Figure 1 shows the calibration and registration panel (left). Application buttons (right) and the 3D model of the patient (from CT images)
Figure 2 shows the pencil for calibration with the electromagnetic sensor attached, red spheres representing the fiduciaries has been added.
Figure 3 shows the DICOM tree on the left and the 3D model of the patient reconstructed from MRI images.
Figure 4 shows an axial plane of an MRI studio. In addition the following related controls: scroll, zoom, rotation, gray window, and selection of the cut.
