We have developed for PetroSynapsis a novel mechanism to visualize spatiotemporal sequences of properties and variables of a reservoir. PetroSynapsis has the capability of visualize reservoirs in GRDECL format, including spatio-temporal sequences of variable and properties. While other software can only display one time step PetroSynapsis can display any variable dynamically. In addition the user can stop in an instant of time to appreciate the details.
The Visualization of spatiotemporal sequences is a great tool for displaying the results of a simulation.
The following video is an example of the dynamic visualization of spatiotemporal sequences of properties and variables in oilfield reservoirs. Furthermore, the use of a spatial filtering tool is illustrated, which allows us to observe the dynamic changes in the internal region of the reservoir. The video shows a dummy simulation but this example shows the capabilities of PetroSynapsis to deploy spatiotemporal oilfield sequences.
The visualization model implemented is extremely helpful when we need to display the results in cubes of simulation. We have designed our own format called iBox to encode the cubes of simulation, but any cube of simulation can also be stored in the GRDECL format.
The following video shows the capabilities of PetroSynapsis software to dynamically deploy, properties and variables found in a simulation in the oil industry. A cube of simulation of 15 x 15 x 6 cells was used. The first variable, called PORE is a dummy sequence, it was generated from a spherical Gaussian moving onto the walls of the cube. The second variable called PRESSURE has been generated from a cylindrical Gaussian which spreads from one edge of the cube.
The following video demonstrates the capabilities of the PetroSynapsis software to dynamically deploy properties and variables found in a simulation in the oil industry. The video deploy spatiotemporal sequences in a cube of simulation. Two types of spatial filtering has been implemented to enable the observation of dynamic changes in the properties or variables in the internal region of the reservoir, so we can visualize the spatiotemporal variations of any property or variable in the inner cells.
